The Internet is about info, info, info. This simple fact determines who wins and who loses in the traffic and page views race. The game revolves around entities that can give away free content. But the real goal is to make money out of these articles by converting visitors to become customers through affiliate marketing.

Now, when I say article, I don't mean selling products and services to readers outright. Remember that direct advertising drives them away. Articles disseminated through affiliate marketing must be valuable to readers by sharing with them advice or references. Companies first have to build a relationship with costumers by giving them something of worth they don't have to pay for.

Affiliate marketing might seem complex, but is actually simple. Though there is a science behind affiliate marketing, it's just basically like running any other business. To make money, a company has to develop its network of affiliates that drives costumers into a merchant's website. The affiliates increase you search engine marketing opportunities by letting you share their online credibility and traffic.

Companies of course have to set aside funds to carry out an affiliate marketing campaign. The pay back is worth these initial costs anyway. In affiliate marketing, blogs have to be paid for posting links to articles produced by your companyyou're official participants in your affiliate marketing plan, blogs that post links to your articles have to be compensated for their trouble. These blogs are usually written by regular guys who want to make money through the hobby at the same time by participating in companies' affiliate marketing campaigns. As a rule, your affiliate must inform their readers of your relationship with your company.

Paying bloggers and sites for links is just one strategy, direct article distribution is another. A team of writers has to be build to pen articles about the field you belong to. Actual affiliate marketing comes second only after the articles are available for wide publishing. By now, my readers must notice that I describe these steps as simple as possible.

Many companies carrying out their own affiliate marketing campaigns are doing it wrong. They pressure their writers to come up with more and more articles each day, thereby compromising the quality. It will take time and experience for them to learn they lose valuable prospects over some inferior piecework. You have to bear in mind that the bio box and byline in your articles have to be seen by readers as credible. In affiliate marketing, quality over quantity remains true most of the time.

The Net has always been and will always be about free content and information. Being free, though, must not translate to poor quality. Business owners and marketers must put this in mind in executing their affiliate marketing campaigns.
